01 · The Seven-Step Process

From curious to onboarded.

The admissions process is designed to make sure each student and each program are a genuine fit — not to gatekeep. Advisors guide you through every step.

Speak with an advisor

Book a call with a SION Varsity admissions advisor. Discuss your background, goals and program fit — no pressure, no marketing.

Eligibility review

Your degree, branch, graduation year and prerequisite fundamentals are reviewed. Any gaps are honestly flagged.

Talent test (where applicable)

Take the SION Semiconductor Talent Test. Free. 45–60 minutes. Six aptitude areas. Structured score report follows.

Program selection

With the advisor, choose the program that fits how you think — ASIC, Verification or FPGA — and pick a batch and delivery mode.

Admission confirmation

Complete admission formalities, fee payment (with any applicable scholarship applied), and receive your admission letter.

Onboarding & kickoff

Get your tool access, lab credentials, batch schedule and cohort introduction. Day 1 begins with a practicing engineer, not a slide deck.

02 · Eligibility

Who can join?

SION Varsity welcomes engineering graduates and working professionals with a genuine interest in semiconductors. Advisors help calibrate program fit against your specific background.

Eligible Degrees

B.Tech · M.Tech · Working Engineers

Final-year students and graduates from ECE, EEE, Electronics, Instrumentation and suitable CSE backgrounds. Working engineers transitioning from embedded, firmware or hardware roles.

Prerequisites

Fundamentals + Willingness

Digital electronics fundamentals, basic programming and logical thinking. Strong willingness to practice — RTL and verification are skills built by repetition.

Graduation Year

Current + Recent + Working

Current final-year, recent graduates and working professionals. Program cohorts are structured so each stage of career maps to a suitable batch.

What We Don't Require

No coding contests · No IIT tag

SION Varsity does not gate on entrance-exam rank, prestige, or coding-contest scores. What matters is engineering intent and willingness to build.

03 · Required Documents

A short list. Nothing surprising.

Documents required during the admissions process. Most can be submitted digitally.

Government photo ID

Passport, Aadhaar, driving licence or equivalent.

Latest academic transcript

Consolidated marksheet, provisional certificate, or degree certificate.

Resume / CV

A short current CV — one to two pages. Not evaluated for prestige.

Talent test score

Automatic — populated after you take the free Talent Test.

Scholarship supporting docs

Only if applying for a merit or need-based scholarship.

Photograph

One recent passport-style photograph, digital.

04 · Batch Structure

Cohorts sized for engineering mentorship.

SION Varsity intentionally keeps cohorts small enough that every student can be reviewed by a practicing engineer — not batch-graded.

Cohort Size

Intentionally limited

Small enough to preserve engineer-to-student review time. Large enough to build a real cohort dynamic. Exact numbers vary by track and batch — confirmed at admission.

Duration

Program-specific

ASIC, Verification and FPGA programs each run through their full nine-module structure plus capstone project. Duration is discussed and confirmed during advisor consultation.

Batches per Year

Multiple intakes

Multiple cohorts per year across delivery modes. Advisors help you pick a batch aligned to your college calendar or working schedule.

05 · Delivery Modes

Three ways to attend.

Delivery-mode availability depends on the program and batch. Advisors confirm which modes are active for your intended cohort.

Mode 01

Online — Live Cohort

Live sessions with practicing engineers, virtual labs and cohort collaboration. Suits final-year students and working professionals in any geography.

Mode 02

Offline — On-Site

At a SION Varsity centre where available. Direct engineer interaction, in-person labs, cohort presence. Advisors confirm current centre availability.

Mode 03

Hybrid

Combination of live online sessions with periodic on-site engagement — labs, project reviews, engineer interactions. Available for select cohorts.
